Apply Now: 2026 AIG Public Leaders Programme

The AIG Public Leaders Programme is designed for public sector leaders committed to driving meaningful reform within their institutions. Across Africa, alumni of the programme are leading initiatives that improve service delivery, strengthen systems, and deliver measurable outcomes for citizens. Applications for Cohort 6 are now open.

Since its inception, over 250+ senior public officials from across Africa have completed the AIG Public Leaders Programme, returning to the public sector with strengthened leadership capability and a clear mandate to implement reform. Their work is translating into improved systems, more efficient processes, and better outcomes for citizens.

The programme is designed to go beyond theory. It equips participants with the tools, perspectives, and support required to lead complex change within government institutions. Delivered in partnership with the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, the AIG PLP combines rigorous academic learning with practical application.

A core component of the programme is the reform project, through which participants identify and address a critical service delivery challenge within their institution. These projects are not theoretical. They are designed to be implemented and scaled.

Alumni of the programme have led reforms that digitise regulatory processes, expand access to healthcare, strengthen public financial management systems, and introduce performance frameworks that improve accountability. Collectively, these efforts are shaping stronger public institutions and impacting millions of citizens across the continent.
