International Civil Service Conference: Building a Future-Ready Public Service
At the 2025 International Civil Service Conference (ICSC) in Abuja, the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation took center stage as a Diamond Partner, driving conversations on transforming Nigeria’s public service.
The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation proudly served as a Diamond Partner at the 2025 International Civil Service Conference in Abuja this June, further strengthening our enduring partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. Over the years, this collaboration has supported bold reform efforts, equipped hundreds of public servants with leadership and performance enhancing tools and championed a vision of an efficient and values-driven public service.
Our Chairman, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, gave an inspiring keynote address titled "Supporting Public Sector Reforms: A Partner’s Experience." He shared insights from the Foundation’s long-standing partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, highlighting how working together with different partners including government entities, private sector, and others has helped improve public services and positively impact the lives of citizens. He also pointed out that leadership from the highest levels, especially the President, is key to scaling up reforms across Nigeria’s large and diverse public service. His message was clear: transforming the public sector is a continuous journey that requires ongoing collaboration and commitment from everyone involved.
The Foundation was also represented on a key panel by Chioma Njoku, Director of Programmes, who contributed to the discussion on "Performance and Results Orientation: Accelerating the Transition from Hard Work to Smart Work." She stressed the need to move beyond effort alone and embrace a culture of collaboration, intentionality, and innovation. She noted that smart work is more than tools or processes, but a mindset that helps civil servants rethink how they plan, execute, and measure their work in alignment with broader development goals.
Throughout the conference, our team engaged in strategic conversations exploring practical ways to drive improved public service delivery. We shared insights from ongoing initiatives, demonstrating how performance management systems, leadership development, and digital transformation are already driving measurable improvements in the Nigerian public sector.
