The Leadership Development Associate supports the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of flagship leadership programmes aimed at identifying and developing high-potential public sector leaders across Africa. Roles & Responsibilities

The Leadership Development Associate will;

  • Support the end-to-end selection process for flagship programmes including Aig-Imoukhuede MPP, Aig-Imoukhuede PLP, and Aig-Imoukhuede Visiting Fellowship.

  • Support the development of new leadership and technical development pathways for identified public sector leaders.

  • Coordinate application and nomination management, initial screening, and assessment logistics.

  • Assist with panel interview scheduling and documentation.

  • Monitor diversity and equity metrics across applicant pools and cohorts

  • Contribute to the development and annual refresh of evidence-informed curricula for leadership programmes.

  • Support the onboarding and coordination of delivery partners, including faculty, institutions, and facilitators.

  • Assist with quality assurance processes and co-creation sessions with the evidence and impact team.

  • Conduct research to support world-class, contextually relevant learning experiences.

  • Support the full operational cycle of flagship programmes from planning through to delivery and post-programme follow-up.

  • Coordinate cohort scheduling, logistics, and on-the-ground facilitation support.

  • Manage participant experience touchpoints including residential programmes, coaching sessions, and mentorship coordination.

  • Design, administer, and analyse baseline, midline, and endline surveys for all initiatives.

  • Collate output data and contribute to programme report writing.

  • Support monthly budget forecasting, funding request preparation, and vendor payment management.

  • Assist in the analysis of applicant pools, cohort performance data, and emerging leadership trends.

  • Prepare regular reports and briefs to inform Foundation-wide strategy and partner outreach.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a Second-Class Upper degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Education, or related fields; a postgraduate degree is an advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in programme management, leadership development, or public sector capacity building, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

Technical, Core and Behavioural Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programmes in a development or public sector context.

  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, adult learning principles, and talent development frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present to senior stakeholders.

  • High level of professionalism, credibility, and discretion.
