AIG Public Leaders Programme: Building a New Generation of African Public Sector Leaders

We are pleased to announce the launch of the fifth cohort of the AIG Public Leaders Programme!

This executive training programme, run in partnership with the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, brings together 72 outstanding public servants from Nigeria, Egypt, Tanzania, Cameroon, Zambia, Malawi, and Kenya. Over the next six months, they will engage in a combination of online and in-person learning to strengthen their leadership skills, foster cultures of excellence and integrity, and prepare them to drive meaningful reforms in their organisations.

Since its launch, the programme has trained 237 public servants from across Africa, many of whom have implemented successful reforms that improved governance, enhanced service delivery, and strengthened institutional capacity in their countries.

The AIG PLP is a platform for public servants to turn learning into action. Each participant undertakes a reform project, applying practical tools and frameworks to address real challenges in their institutions. Since 2021, our alumni have successfully led initiatives that improved governance, enhanced service delivery, and built stronger institutions across Africa.

Through programmes like the AIG PLP, we are committed to shaping the next generation of public sector leaders who will drive sustainable change and transform Africa’s public institutions.
