Courtesy Visit: Building Partnerships that Make Lasting Reform Possible

Nearly one-third of our Aig-Imoukhuede Public Leaders Programme alumni are Lagos State public servants. That raised an important question: how do we build on that to drive more reform across the state?

A delegation led by our Executive Vice Chair, Mrs Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, to discuss how we can support the reform efforts of our alumni in the state.

The courtesy visit was prompted by Lagos State's strong representation in our flagship training programme, the Aig-Imoukhuede Public Leaders Programme, with approximately 30% of alumni being Lagos State public servants, many of whom are already driving reforms within their organisations. The significant number of Lagos State applicants in the incoming Cohort 6 further reinforced the state's strategic importance to the programme.

Led by our Executive Vice Chair, Mrs Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, we paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, to discuss how we can support the reform efforts of our alumni in the state.

The discussions focused on aligning incoming participants' reform projects with the State's priority areas, ensuring they address challenges the government is actively working to solve. They also explored opportunities to support the Foundation's alumni whose reform projects have stalled by addressing implementation barriers, while identifying successful alumni-led initiatives that could be adapted and scaled across other government organisations.

The Head of Service welcomed these areas of collaboration with the Foundation and expressed his willingness to continue the engagement. He also presented us with a commemorative plaque, reserved for organisations making exceptional contributions to the public service.

Our work does not stop at training. Partnerships like this are one of the ways we ensure reform efforts move beyond training rooms into government.
