Q2 Alumni Upskilling: Building Capabilities for a Changing Public Sector
Building leadership capacity in the public sector remains a priority for us. Our recent alumni upskilling event brought together seasoned experts to share practical strategies on managing change through effective stakeholder engagement and advocacy, empowering public servants to navigate reforms with confidence and drive impact.
As citizens’ expectations continue to rise, the public service must evolve to meet their demands. To support this evolution, the Foundation is committed to the ongoing upskilling of our alumni, ensuring they remain equipped to serve effectively. This month, we hosted an alumni upskilling event themed “Change Management in the Public Service,” where participants gained practical skills in negotiation, lobbying, and stakeholder engagement.
A key highlight of the session was a panel discussion moderated by our Director of Programmes, Chioma Njoku. She was joined by distinguished experts, including Mrs. Funke Adepoju, Director General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), and Professor Enase Okonedo, Vice Chancellor of Pan Atlantic University. Together, they explored how negotiation, lobbying, and stakeholder engagement serve as essential tools for public servants leading reform efforts.
These upskilling sessions are designed to consistently strengthen the capabilities of our alumni, helping them navigate a fast-changing environment. By empowering public servants with these critical skills, we are not only enhancing their effectiveness but also contributing to improved service delivery across Africa.
