Nigerian AI Scaling Hub: Advancing Nigeria’s Digital Future
Using technology with purpose has the power to transform how public services are delivered. Reflecting this belief and our commitment to a digitally enabled public sector, the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation is proud to be supporting the establishment of the Nigerian AI Scaling Hub, an ambitious initiative led by the Federal Government in partnership with the Gates Foundation
In a significant move for Nigeria’s digital future, our Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, joined Bill Gates and the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, at the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Gates Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. This agreement sets the stage for the Nigerian AI Scaling Hub, a bold project designed to fast-track the responsible use of artificial intelligence in key sectors that are vital to Nigeria’s growth.
The launch of the Nigerian AI Scaling Hub is a major milestone in Nigeria’s journey to becoming a leader in artificial intelligence across Africa. Aligned with the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Hub will focus on using AI to tackle real-world challenges, whether it’s improving healthcare, boosting agricultural productivity, or strengthening education. By doing so, it will play a crucial role in driving Nigeria’s digital transformation and supporting economic growth.
At the signing ceremony, our Chairman also accepted an invitation to join the National AI Trust, where he will contribute his vision and leadership to help shape governance frameworks for the future. This collaboration reflects our commitment to building a digitally enabled public sector, one that delivers smarter, faster, and more inclusive services for every Nigerian.
