A key pillar of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation’s work is empowering stakeholders with reliable information to drive evidence-based advocacy. In line with this commitment, we recently published two research reports that examine the current state of policymaking and public sector performance in Nigeria. These reports provide data-driven insights, actionable recommendations, and a clear roadmap for improving public sector effectiveness.
Our first report, Scope of Citizen Engagement in Public Policy Making, Implementation, and Reforms in Nigeria: A Non-State Actors’ Perspective, explores how non-state actors view citizen engagement in policymaking and why it is essential for successful reforms. The study highlights the need for deeper citizen involvement, rebuilding trust and transparency in governance, and inclusive participation in public service reform. Click here to read the report.
The second report, Analysis of Benchmarks for Nigeria's Public Sector Performance Measurement, addresses the ongoing debate around effective benchmarks for measuring public sector performance. Drawing on global case studies and frameworks, it identifies proven benchmarks that policymakers can use to track progress, identify service delivery gaps, and promote evidence-based reforms. Importantly, it offers a pathway to restore citizen trust through transparent and measurable improvements. Click here to read the report
