Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Endowment Fund: Rewarding Public Sector Excellence
Building a world-class public service goes beyond reforms and policies; it is also about the people behind those reforms. Through our partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), we continue to reward exceptional civil servants through the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Endowment Fund for Public Sector Excellence.
At the 2026 Civil Service Week Gala Night, we recognised three outstanding civil servants through the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Endowment Fund for Public Sector Excellence.
This year's honourees were recognised in two award categories: the Presidential Civil Service Merit Award and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation EPIC Award. Among this year's recipients was Anthony Okechukwu Ogwo, a cohort 5 alumnus of the Aig-Imoukhuede Public Leaders Programme (PLP), demonstrating our commitment to developing the capacity of public servants to provide exceptional leadership across the public service.
The Fund, now in its fifth year, has awarded more than ₦60 million to 127 exceptional civil servants across 50 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. Beyond recognising individual achievement, the initiative serves as a catalyst for high performance, innovation, and a culture of excellence within the public service.
At the ceremony, our Director of Programmes, Chioma Njoku, received an award on behalf of our Chairman, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, in recognition of his impactful contribution to strengthening the rewards and recognition system in the Federal Civil Service. The recognition reflects more than five years of sustained commitment to strengthening civil service recognition initiatives and supporting a culture in which excellence and dedication are valued across the public service.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to supporting the people and institutions at the heart of public service. By celebrating excellence, encouraging high performance and investing in public servants, we hope to continuously contribute to a public service that is better equipped to deliver meaningful and lasting impact for citizens.
